THE 2007 DEBUT OF TATA CRUCIBLE IN SINGAPORE
On October 24th, 2007 after a month long campaign at universities and polytechnics in Singapore the Tata Crucible Quiz was held at the University Cultural Centre, National University of Singapore. 159 teams from 10 universities participated in the Quiz. The team of Anirban Dattagupta and Bhavya Khanna from SMU won the coveted trophy and SGD 7,000 prize in the gruelling stage final, competing against 7 other teams from NUS, SIM and SMU.
There was also a significant presence of professors, teachers and top executives from various companies of Singapore who enjoyed the riveting contest and later interacted with the students.
Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Honourable Minister of Community Development, Youth & Sports and Second Minister for Information, Communications & the Arts of Singapore graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The event was covered by Channel News Asia and was telecast as two episodes both on local and international feeds.
