The quiz was a single event open to the target audience, in teams of two each from the same polytechnic/college/university. At the start of the event, all teams will have to participate in a written elimination round of 25 questions. The 8 top teams from the written round will then be invited on stage to battle it out for the coveted Tata Crucible International trophy.

The 5-6 live rounds on stage consisted of questions from the world of business and economy, including business houses, personalities, brands, markets, etc. The emphasis in the questions was not on the obvious, but lateral thinking and associations.

The Quiz Master, Mr. Giri Balasubramaniam, a.k.a. Pickbrain had successfully conducted the Tata Crucible Quiz in India, Singapore & the UK and is known for his wit, humour and incisive style of quizzing.
